About Dr. Amer
Dr. Kamal Amer is a board-certified Gastroenterologist and Internal Medicine physician dedicated to providing comprehensive digestive health and preventive care services. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, helping patients achieve better health through personalized, evidence-based care.
Dr. Amer earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he also served in a leadership role during his fellowship training.
His clinical interests include colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing disorders, gastrointestinal bleeding, gastritis, liver disease, abdominal pain, and other digestive health conditions. He performs a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, with a focus on early detection, prevention, and patient education.
Known for his compassionate and patient-focused approach, Dr. Amer takes the time to listen to his patients, explain treatment options clearly, and develop individualized care plans that address each patient’s unique needs.
